Tis a lot... bear with me here...
Ok, so, Have you ever had a dream that boarder lined on the quality of a movie?

I mean gawd- it even had an actor I’m familiar with in it! It was really odd! I would really like to actually write it out as my own original story! Unless of course it was the product of some story/movie I heard/saw years ago and just relived it overnight.

That would suck- but anyway. It’s kinda frustrating because I know for a fact that there are certain details that were absolutely vivid while I was dreaming it but when I woke up and tried to remember… it was that feeling when something is JUST out of reach- you can almost taste it, but you don’t even know what ‘IT’ is.

Anyway, lemme tell ya what I remember:
I think it started with this little girl at these big iron gates to a vast manor way back in late 1600’s (maybe early 1700’s). The sky was dark, like it was about to rain. The little girl She looked to be no more than maybe 8 or 9 years old but was different; there was something about her- as if there was far more that what you just saw on the surface - her eyes were older, intelligent and secretive. A man rode from the castle atop a horse and stopped at the gate, looking at her through the bars. He smiled and asked her if she was lost. She was silent for a moment and a small grin grew on her face, she replied, “no, I am a princess.” She certainly didn’t look like a princess; her clothes were worn and tattered, and her face and hands were dirty. She smiled again and said, “If you open the gate, I’ll make you a prince” He laughed a little, the paused and called up to the gate keeper (who was out of view and could care less about the conversation) to open the gate. The Gate keeper called back, asking him who sought entry and he replied with something… but I’m not sure what (this is a detail I’m missing; but it was something average, not a spectacular title.) The gate opened and the little girl stepped in curtseying to him. He slipped off his horse and kneeled down to speak with her. He advised her to go to the kitchens- that the maids and cooks would feed her and let her stay for the night but then she would have to leave. She thanked him and walked towards the structure, the man watching her go for a moment before mounting his horse again and riding away fro the day.
The girl did go to the kitchens and get herself fed, but she insisted on taking a tray of supper up to the master of the house (who was very ill) as thanks for their kindness. She assured them she was graceful and would not spill a drop. The maids agreed, knowing that the master was far too feverish to recognize that she was a stranger, and up she went. She climbed the staircases to a room on one of the higher floors and entered a dark room, filled with many expensive and extravagant things. There were many mirrors, but they all had sheets over them, only little bits of mirror peaked out here and there. The drapes were closed allowing no light in (not that there was much out to begin with) and there was a candle burning on the bedside stand, illuminating half the face of an elderly and sickly man. The little girl approached the bed (it felt very suspenseful here… like time didn’t exist) The girl approached the bed and stopped only a foot or two away. Then she spoke, and said, “I’ve brought your supper, father.”
there is a big gap here that I can’t really remember, but the little girl was definitely not his daughter, I don’t even thing the guy had ever married…she was only was pretending to be his daughter- just as she had pretended to be a princess … though this act is more convincing. Some of it’s fuzzy, but I know she spoke with him- had a whole conversation in witch she easily convinced him that she was his daughter. The second part of their conversation goes as follows: She says, “Father, you are ill- who will take care of me if you go?” He coughs a bit and breathes in- then he replies that the maids are capable. She says, “no, I need someone who can be a father to me.” He responds that there is no one in the family, that she will have to stay in the maids care until she is old enough. The little girl places her hand on the old mans arm and tells him that her and the man who let her in (she used his name, but I cant remember it) are good friends, that he would make a good guardian for her and treat her well. The old man pauses and nods and declares the man who let her in as his heir until the little girl is of age.
The little girl is given a room and stays overnight. The man returns in the morning to work (though what he does I don’t remember) and is informed that he will inherit the estate after the man passes. He finds the girl in a sitting room and she only smiles at him, “I’ve made you a prince, just as I promised.” She says. She asks him one last favor- to let her stay with him here. He can hardly believe what’s happened, and he isn’t sure if this is a good thing.
It cuts out here, and a few years pass. The old man died only a few days after naming him his successor and the man inherited everything. The girl a little older now, and beautiful. She still has that mysterious feel to her. The man has risen from the average worker he was before she changed his life, to a very important and powerful man - but he is just and good. Though he is powerful, he asks the girl for advice often- because she has a unique and strange knowledge about things, almost as if she knows what’s going to happen. (it’s just an odd thing… this is obviously a fairytale) there is an older woman in her constant company now, a sort of care taker for the girl.
Things get really hazy here again… I don’t remember much except that something goes wrong… someone or something like the girl (meaning with that fairytale feeling, like a monster from a nightmare) is now after the girl and the man who let her in all those years ago. He says something along the lines of, “no one gets through the gates - not even young men with little beggar girls.” (it was much more witty and serious in the dream… but I can’t remember his exact words… same point though)
About here is where I wake up

…I don’t think I ever saw the creature that was attacking; but it was close… if my alarm clock hadn’t gone off I might have, now I’ll never know

Like I said before I’d really like to actually smooth it out, fill in the gaps, and make an original story out of it. I like fairytales and fantasies… they are much fun… anyway- if anyone reads this, lemme know whatcha think! If you have any ideas or space fillers, I’m open for suggestions!
Thanks!
